Author trouble with lowering i think.

please can anyone help. just bought corsa b full body kit with mesh front 17inch alloys and it grinds and scraps over bumps like mad. im new to this and havent got a clue what to do. please can some one give advice. its been lowered 40mm . like i say im a bit new to this i bought it and havent got much knowlage. heeeellllpppppp. :boggle:

sorry i forgot it seems to be touching the back wheels to over bumps

wrong offset on the wheels you need an offset of et 45-49

Take a wheel off and have a look for a number printed in the wheel somewhere. This will confirm this
Also put something heavy in the car (ie fat mates ) and have a look at the rear arches and wheels and see where they are touching and go from there.
If the the bolts are still in the plastic arches take these out and bond the arches back on with something like tiger seal. This will give you a little more clearance on the outside

what about new adjustable coilovers would that solve it.

soz im thick but i thought with adjustables u could hire it just a bit to stop it just touching the wheels. im not too keen on changing the alloys. as they are really expensive. i need to find the cheapest way of solving the problem. again im bit new to this being a girl and all lol. why would the ajustable coilovers not solve it. :

all these wheel posts lately should be merged into one and made a permanent sticky!

If your wheels are rubbing and you are only down 40mm then the offset will be way out. You need to check this first as if it is out too far there will not be much more you can do aside from adding wide arches on to your car.

wish i could but the plonker that i bought the car off filled all the arches and body kit all round with filler and smoothed all down so im totally bollacks to do arches unless the whole kit comes off. doh. wished now i hadnt bought it. its a headache.
