I have a 1.4 16v sri....been running fine but...when im in 1st and pull off in a junction theres no power....it holds back a lot struggle to hit 60mph.
the crank sensor cable has snaped before i got it...and has been taped back up..but i think it gets false readings through the alternator .. got a new one here ready to go in...

checked plugs yesturday...the plugs were covered in about 1 and a half inches of oil..i know this doesnt help but is there anything else i should check?

Thats your problem then i would replace the crank sensor, buy some new plugs get them changed over making sure no more oil il leaking in, see if that is the cause if is problem sorted if not back to drawing board, definaly try the obvious first
