Author my car will not go in gear

i have a 1.4 sport and over the last week the gears hav been getting harder to change and my clutch pedal as go real low i have had this b4 and a mate did something to fix it 4 me now that mate is a away 4 a 2weeks ive got no money so what do i do to fix it am sure its something 2 do with the gearlink thing

any help will be great

Look down towards the gearbox, and above you should see an arm, with a screw thread coming out of it.

Try to push the arm back (towards the rear of the car) and pull the screw thread towards the front of the car and try to free it from the arm.

There will be a plastic block on the screw thread, one end will be round, the other square.

Once this is free'd, twist the plastic block along the screw thread (cant remember which direction, but as a guide I would advise aim towrds the middle fo the thread).

Now again, pull the screw thread towards the front of the car and push the arm back and put the plastic block back into the round part of the arm.

Now try your clutch, and if it still isnt right, try again with some more adjustment until its right

See the bar the rod that is circled? Well, on the end of that rod is the clutch cable, on the end is the adjuster, just tighten it

I did it many times (weekly basis at one point, before the clutch was changed ) on a pre-97 8v so nice and easy
