Why is it that it sometimes makes a ticking noise when the engine is stopped? Is there a reason for this? Or is mine the only one that does it

Any input appreciated

most probably exhaust cooling down

Last time I had a look the little spring at the end was moving in and out for some reason. Not sure why though
