This is an annoying one as I really can't decide what to do about my wheels...
Got a 1.6 Corsa Sport T reg... it's lowered 60mm on a GMax supersport kit. Got standard 3 spokes with 185/60x14's. Now, the fronts, well.. only the passengers side... catches the inner plastic arch lining just on the outside front edge of it and has worn it away a touch so dont really get any issues now... however I'm wondering if I put 15's on with a 195/45 tyre if the extra width is likely to cause me any problems...
Thinking about it it's 10mm difference which is gonna be 5mm effectively extra to twat me inner arch lining lol... but with the rolling radius being smaller that might counteract the extra width and all could be well.
alternatively if i go 15's i could use a 185/55 tyre but i have to be honest they dont look as good really from a profile view of the car.
pic of the car so you can see how low it is:

15" 195/45 with the right ET wheels will be fine as long as they are not really wide

yeah I will ONLY consider vauxhall wheels... astra, cavalier, corsa, tigra etc so 49mm offset and no wider than 6"
someone told me the 3 spokes on 1.6 sports are 5.5" wide compared to 5" on 1.4's or something??? dunno how true that is?

most vauxhall wheels would be fine if its 4 stud just get a lower profile tyre then they wont rub

Most Vauxhall 15s are 6"
With a 6" rim, I'd go for a 185/50 or 195/45 tyre.

right ive brought some yoko a539 tyres in 195/45 brand new for £100 (couldnt say no to that!)
They'll be going on Cav GSI rims. Now...
I just lined one up to the front 14's to see if they're much wider and they look LOADS wider (well not loads but noticable obviously) and seeing as on the drive home from Derby to Stoke the fronts (14" 185/60's) caught @ a bit of speed and have now cracked/split the inner arch lining where they rub, I dunno if these fookers will even go on! lol.
Do you think I'm gonna have to get my arches modded?
Raise the front with 40mm springs? ARGH! lol
OR will the cav wheels also sit further IN to the arch (as in with them being wider will they sit closer to the suspension, or the same and extrude more on the arch side?)
cheers

my sxi wheels look skinny compared to my 195/45's.
best off just sticking them on there asnd if anything scrubs then take the arches off, trim them down and bond them back on.
don't higher it, won't look as
cav wheels SHOULD sit the same distance away from the suspension etc as 3 spokes as the offset is the same.
