How do these respond with standard engine management, and no other engine mods? Had a quick look through the old topics, most seem to say a remap is required to get the most out of them?

A remap is recommended, but they work ok without one.
The fueling will be slightly out tho, as the inlet tract is now half its original length.

runs fine on standard map, the gain is superb from just the inlet alone. my old one has done about 10k since fitting it and has had no problems.
