hi,
i have a 2001 corsa SXI
I have a rattling/knocking from the rear which i believe to be a problem with the rear wheel bearings.
i also have a problem with steering, stiff right and easy left, this i believe to be the power steering unit/pump.
the petrol is also going very quick and i dont rag it, i get about 250 miles for a full tank, is this normal? i think this could be an electrical problem as the car with spanner through it keeps popping up on the dash for a bit then disappearing when i re-start engine a few times
can someone please confirm my suspisions and give me a rough idea of cost to fix

do a paperclip test to find out what the fault codes are to be causing the 'check engine' light.
Wheel bearing isnt a major job.
Power steering may need some investigation - so not easy to say if its an easy fix. The rack could be catching on something. The rack could be fucked. To me the pump sounds fine if its good one way and not the other :/

The spanner on the dispay isnt a fault. The idea of the spanner is to tell you when your next service is due. When you have it serviced, vauxhall remove the spanner icon. Dont know what the rattling/ knocking will be.
