Finally gave into the constant nagging to upgrade - and wish I hadn't!
The only problem I can see is that on my contact list I can no longer see thumbnails of the contacts user picture on my contacts list or when they sign in - all I get is the MSN Messenger icon.
Apart from that I see no changes other then a few cosmetic tweaks and sounds.
I've got the Live version of Plus! but there are still no options to get it back to how it was.

Any ideas how I can do it?

Jules- Uninstall this version you have got at the minuet its a load of crap full of viruses, my laptop picked up on it the other night so i re-installed MSN 7.5 but if you do decide to keep it i would of thought the thumbnails should automatically come up as soon as they sighn in!! If not Go into your persona settings, then on the left hand side should be like a list. click on General (iirc) then choose View Contacts ---

OOhhhh I fluked it!!
Got it sorted!

To get the user pics back in your contact list, Open Live Messenger, just above the window where your contact list is you'll see the search bar (to find a member etc etc), next to that is a "add contact" button, and next to that is a button that if you press you get some options - if you check the "Show contacts details" you will get the pics back!

Messenger was advertising a link to a trojan or something a couple of weeks ago.

The rest of the rubbish about it in this thread is exactly that, rubbish.

For some reason messenger seems to crash less than perfectly stable computers.

It must be the memory addresses it accesses or a certain command it gives the processor or something.

On a perfectly healthy, stable system though it should work fine.

If its crashing your computer, apart from the odd case whish will always happen, it's not messengers fault.
