anyone know procedure and cost involved in this, i might be buying some allyos that fit a vw polo and need to get the offset rebuilt, any advice is gratefully recieved.

what wheels?...the offset is usually set to the wheel.
it is possible (but can be dangerous) to get the wheel machined to the correct offset

they are tsw's 15" , i heard too about milling the wheels down but apparently its pretty dodgy

i wopuldnt recommend it on tsw's......there usually a very low grade of alloy...hence the price

is it true that they can be rebuilt, some cs member told me he was rebuilding his to match the offset of his car, but in reality was he just skimmin the alloy.

you can machine them down to a better offset (eg 42-45) but to go the other way just use spacers

you would need about 10mm machined off for them to sit nicely then....it would be unsafe mate!
you would need to see how deep the bolt taper goes into the wheel, and how much alloy you have 'spare'

it can be done, but you might have brake clearance issues and the bolt hole will have a thinner base, meaning it's weaker.

reading other posts though apparently you can have an offset of 42 when lowered 40mm and it wont rub, i really would like these to fit nicely thats all. Any suggestions as to other methods?

i had an offset of 37 lowered 60mm and it didnt rub much...

well i guess i will buy them fit em and see what happens, i dont think there are any other corsas that have these alloys tho as they arent made by tsw anymore

that was me!!!

Yes i am rebuilding my alloys but my alloys are superlite 3 piece

I wouldn't lower myself to cast alloy wheels lol

all makes sense now, i guess i will buy them and if they dont work sell them off, some cs members have posts saying they fitted theirs and lowered and it worked brilliant.
