An engine posted you're better of charging them your petrol money and taking it if you have a suitable vehicle - I doubt any courier would take it. Too heavy etc.

I always use Parcel Force for stuff on eBay BUT they only take under 1.5metres wide I think.

Palletways will deliver an engine for you. I had one delivered from England to Northern Ireland on a pallet for £68, which was pretty good in my opinion. It only took a few days also. Give them a ring and find out.

Not sure how much an engine would cost to send via courier but "abdus" sent me an ebay link for a very reasonable courier company.

i've used this company ^^ and it is a very good one. JUst buy it and you will get a confirmation mail with your consignment number. You can even phone them (parcelforce) within the hour and and tell them you will drop the item yourself...better than waiting 8am to 6pm. BTW the service used is parcelforce.

have you emailed the seller after the purchase and payment? I did the same and I received a mail from parcelforce some 45-60 minutes later confirming collection and delivery address...I've used it soooo many times without any problems at all.... can't understand why yours ain't working...

BTW, you normally receive the confirmation from parcelforce...so if you buy it now, it will be only tomorrow that you will get the notification from parcelforce

and don;t forget to mail the seller with all the details...
