Well down our local scrappy me dad spotted this red vectra gsi, looks nice, high mileage though but we will go back to check the engine and gear box etc. but from what we saw it looks like it needs a new wing headlight and indicator, the front bumper will need some touch ups.

Its up for £1395, but we got them down to £1000.

We have not bought it yet but i just wondered what you opinions are on it, it is cat d so doesnt need a VIC test.

let me know what you guys think

Look at the pics closely... both front wheels are pointing diff directions, so it has mechanical damage aswell as what youve listed above. Could be as simple as a snapped steering rod but could be rack etc aswell.

Also steering wheel is a mess, doesnt look like its had the easiest of lives..

we would change the steering wheel for sure, we only got a look of it just as they where about to close so we had no real time to get a good look at it.
But will definately check out whats up with the wheels, bound to be something wrong, cheers for the help guys

Not worth it

You can get decent running ones for £1500 or so. That may cost £1000 to get running and high miles

I agree, a decent example with lower miles can be had for £1600 or so, I was looking for one a while back.

I have never seen a decent low miles Vectra GSi go for £1600

But I think that one has under lying problems, Personally i would stay clear.

buying cars like this always turns into a nitemare of expense, u think ur onto a bargain but by the time it be road legal and fixed and mint, u could have just gone out and bought a straight one..

i have never done this and i am a panel beater, even with saving on labour charges wouldnt be worth my while.

these cars are written off for a reason...
