Just drilled the airbox, it sounds really good now. I was wonderin if i need the hot air pipe which connects to the engine? And whats the red flap thing inside the airbox?

when engine is cold it lets hot air in air box to help it get to operating temp quicker, at which point the flap closes.
if i remember correctly.... although i've had corsas with proper engines that don't need these lmao

depends on what you mean by "need".
may as well leave it on, aint gonna make it any better by taking it off unless its open when engine is warm
ps. why did the 1.2 cross the road? cos it had to use the pavement cos it was too slow for the road

It's there to help the engine warm up quicker and to warm the cat up quicker to make the engine run more efficiently. The red pipe is a vacuum pipe which opens and closes the flap when hot air is required. There isn't realy any performance gain in removing it Will help you out leaving it on though.
