erm...as some may have read rpeviously, im haiving problems with a whining gearbox.
i took the diff plate off today and had a peek...
the speed sensor is rubbing through on the reluctor ring 
the whole sensor has gone banana shape lol...and now the reluctor ring has a nice score through it 
anyone ever had this problem before, or heard of it happening?

nope...just the speedo sensor...., the rest of the box seems fine.

erm..found the reason.....the nipple on the end of the speed sensor snapped....so its springing out and touching the ring..

grrr...replaced it today it went fine...sounded sexy as ever.
but, about 12miles down the road, snapped the new1 too 
what do u all think?..worn diff bearings?

what if i just crank up the preload on the diff...that should tighten it up shouldnt it?

If the noise went off then it can't be the diff bearings, they would whine constantly.

whines constantly at low rpm now 
to be honest, im completely unsure what it is........
all i know is sumhow, the gearbox has eaten 2 speed sensors, and whines like fuk 
theres alot of play on the shafts too...

sounds like the diff bearings have shiffted the moves the crown wheel over and knocks them out the fords did the same thing
