a set of 2.0 or v6 brakes would do the job fine.
As for engine wise, you will need, the engine, loom, gearbox, loom and if your car is single point injection then you'll need the multipoint fuel injectors aswell.
hope this helps

you need AT LEAST the brakes from a 1.6 corsa, but 2.0 16v ones or v6 ones are even better.
then, you'll need;
engine
gearbox
loom
fuel pump
alternator, starter, injectors etc from the 1.6
drivers side engine mount is different, so you'll need one of them
you'd be better off just buying a 1.6, with what it'll cost you to buy a decent engine, and all the bits, and the hassle of doing the wiring, which will be a pain on a pre 97 1.2 8v.

What about a 1.6 8v or higher?
Any point or should i just sell the car and buy something else?

well, unless the car is immensely low mileage, has loads of sentimental value, or has had loads of mods which can't be removed, you'd be better buying a new car.
the 1.6 8v would be easier than the 1.6 16v though

My 1.4 8v to 1.6 8v conversion was a doodle, didn't even have to change the engine loom....
