I've got a 1.2 8v which is just approaching 39k managed to get this in january off a school secretary. This means that its had nuthin done to it from new and jus wondered when the first cambelt change is due. As its jus had its first exhuast change and are there any other parts that mite be due.

do a cambelt as a precaution, and do the water pump while its in bits.

1.2 8v with 39k miles on it! What age is it? How much did you pick it up for?

I know deano87 thats the reason why i bought it. Its an N reg 1995 with full service history got it for abt 800 in January as the lady was moving abroad.

At the moment its main use is jus a run around although i am thinkin of moddin it up once i finish uni and get another car.

how difficult is it to change a cambelt your self and wud u reccomend it ?

cambelt change is normally every 40k or evry 4years whichever comes first, i would change them earlier than that, and so the waterpump and tensioner aswell.. chris

dont attempt to change you own cambelt unless you know you can do it........

ive never heard of anyone changing there waterpump every time the do the belt mr.kallis lol
