I think it might be to do with the fact there was a lot of rain tonight while I was working , but don't know what it has affected 
The car is turning over and trying to start but can't.
Spark plugs are soaked in petrol therefore no/weak spark ?
The exhaust pops a bit.
Is it possible that the distributor pack/leads etc have got damp , causing the above ??

Thats a possibility ... Mine used old car used to do it *Engine swapped to a GSi* .. And wen it rained/damp day it never started properly ,,, Never found out tho As some old bloke wrote it off parked outside my house

Ye basically, unless its not that ... It will run fine once they dry out

Well on mine it was the spark plugs *I think* that was causing the problem .. Obviously it might not be the same problem

Turns out the fuel pump relay was knackered
|
