I realise that this differs greatly depending on where you are doing most of your journeys, and how heavy your right foot is! Generally short journeys(less than 5 miles), with a few motorway journeys of about 30 miles. Usually steady driving with the odd blow-out. What sort of miles are you guys getting to a tank? Car is 1999 t 1.6 sport.
Cheers, Aboo............

wouldnt it be easier just saying how many miles you get to how many litres of fuel, rather than cost of fuel

Going by that I should be looking at approx.320 miles to a tank, as it costs roughly £40 to fill up. Cheers.........

no because people generally go to the petrol station and stick £20 in rather than 21.37 litres.

went on holiday last week, filled it up to the top, cost me £40 from pretty much empty at 97.9ppl, got down to 1/4 of a tank because to fill it back up cost £30 and had covered at most 350 and at least 320 miles.

in the calculator on the second link i put in 335 miles done, 25 litres used @ 97.9p and it came out with 60.9MPG?! Can anyone confirm that for me?? For 200 odd miles of the 335 ish covered i was doing 60 - 80.

Or am i just being stupid?

you did 335 miles with only 25litres? or 335km?

25/4,54= 5.5 Gallons

5.5g=335m
1g= 335/5.5= ~60.9mpg

i know its an impossibility, but yea, 330 odd miles and 1/4 of a tank left, it only took £30 to fill it back up again.

im sure its miles, its a standard set of gauges and it 'turns by the mile' on the trip counter, and no i didnt forget to reset the counter, everytime i fill up the car i reset it (cos it dont get filled very often)

remember, when you use those mpg calculators a lot of them convert it by using US gallons which are different to uk gallons.

I always use this calculator:
