is there much call for a sump guard on a corsa 2.0 let corsa conversion. what kind of price would i pay?

not really worth it unless your planning on doing some gravel rally stages,they tend to make the oil in your engine get red hot due to lack of cooling due to the sump being made of alumium and a good conducter of heat and cooling.You would expect to pay about 250.00 for one tho

suppose one with holes in to allow some airflow would help.

i dont suffer from hitting the sump, but ive hit the manifold quite a few times

Depends where its mounted to, if it goes far enough forward then yes.

you can get ones that tie to the suspension bottom mounts aswell as the cross member iirc
these can add a lot of rigidity to the front end.
