My friend has a 99' VW Polo 1.4 16v.
The car keeps over heating and the fan didn't kick in, so we thought immediately it was the thermostat and we changed it. Refilled the coolant left it idleing and it seemed ok, sat nicely at 90degrees.
We took the car for a spin and the temperature shot up to 100degrees and the fan didn't kick in.
We now think it is the water pump that has gone. Any help or advice is welcomed.
