Now when im on the motorway gettin upto about 70mph i feel the car jerk and slow down then the engine managment light comes on?!? is this the air filter sucking in hot air or am i just fuckin the engine up even more?

i had a K & N induction kit on my 1st car, 1.0 Club, and it slowed it down no end and drank a lot more fuel.
i can say though i never had any major performance problems like your describing especially not the ECU light, maybe when fitting it you accidentally pulled out a sensor form somewhere else?
best bet is refit the airbox see how it goes

Are you still a lawyer pk crisps?
Happy, the filter makes you use more fuel and causes other problems so are you no just better taking it off?

John - you are a prick who needs to get a life. Also who is 'PK Crisps'? Me and you are going to fall out soon.
Happy - for once John has actually suggested something worthy of noting; you would just be better reverting to your original setup.

mine did this on my 1.6 and the ecu light came on , i got told i must of hit a sensor but i know i didnt because i checked all that . so i took it of and put on a KnN panel filter . i also got told induction kits dont make your ecu light come on , but i no it was that causing it .

i suspect the air flow meter or air temp control sensor has spat its dummy. get rid of the induction kit and put the original airbox back in
