ok put my car for the mot today and it failed on emissions, its a tuned c20xe fully rebuilt 6000 miles ago with gasflowed head also ported and polished, low comp pistons, kent fast road/rally hybrid spec cams, lightned and balanced flywheel/bottom end k+n cone filter and full custom powerflow exhaust, ecu is standard gte 16v in working order, can anyone gimmie any ideas how to get the emmisions down????......

I take it you have a CAT on it?

there more then likely doing a cat test (post 92) which a c20xe wasnt designed to pass.

you need to prove the engine is from a pre 92 car in order for them to test the emissions at the default limits

no cat and theyre doin the pre 92 mot test as i took the reg docs for the gte in with me....

put a cat on it, i know tis not ment to have 1 but it should pass then..

there is a screw on the airflow meter which adjusts the co.

did it fail on co or hydrocarbons?

jesus that would mean gettin a full exhaust too rob as its a custom s/s from manifold back.......

adam yea that correct failed on hydrocarbons, can you just adjust that with a co2 meter?

did they rev it to between 2500 and 3000 revs to see if it passed then?

if the hcs are too high then they are allowed to rev it between 2500 and 3000 revs to see if they come down.

hcs too high means its overfuelling
