can someone explain why vauxhall put a pipe from the manifold shield to my airbox? i thought hot air was a bad thing? have taken it off now as ive drilled my box but dont get why they wanted to suck hot air in
its a 1.4 8valve btw

It lets in warm air, as freezing air isnt very good for the valves.

it helps warm the engine up quicker to make it more efficient and so that you get cabin warmth as early as poss.
if neither of those things bother you then leave it off.
