Ive had a couple of close calls, where my battery has only just had enough power to open my locks after i have left the car unused for a week or two, and i want to make sure im covered in case this does happen.
What can i do? Could i put some cable to each terminal and hide the wire in the wheel arch so if i need to i can charge it this way? Is that safe, is there any better ways?

you can do that like u said put them behind bumper or in wheel arch but you should only do it to open the car not really good idea to try and bump start car with them lol

Can't you reach the +ve terminal of the alternator from under the front of the car?
This is connected straight to the battery, so by connecting the +ve of a jump pack to that, and the -ve to a good earth point (i.e. gearbox) you should be able to get power to operate your door locks.

ive got a lead going from positive to the front bumper somewhere just incase!
another thought i had was to run a wire from the positive of one of the switches in the mirrors and put a battery terminal on it and get ones of those square batteries as one might have just enough power to pop the one door once!
or you could run a 12v supply from another battery or car and pop the door that way, only need one pop on one door!

I dont wanna mess about with connecting to bits in the engine as its most likely to happen at uini where i dont have the tools to do this.
So if i connect a wire to +ve and -ve, hidden in bumper. then if they die i can connect these to another car battery, pop the locks, get in and then jump start it?

You only need one wire there +ve as any other metal part of the car is your -ve

But surely it would be hard to find a clean bit of metal to use as an earth if the cars locked and on the floor?
It is ok to just hook another battery up so the two are in aprrel to open the locks yea?

There's plenty of points on a car that could be used to connect an earth to... they don't have to be wonderfull earths, as you're not starting the car off it etc..
Yes, connecting another battery in parrallel will do the trick.. so long as its 12v & not 24v

Oh, and if you fit an additional +ve point, make sure its insulated, or isolated from the body.
