Right im pretty sure its my drivers side cv as when i put power on engine at low speeds tight left hand turns it knocks. Is this a problem that could go majorly wrong or something i could live with for a little while till i get a new cv

Its worn, check the boot and repack with grease, this may buy you some time. I just changed all my CVs before I put the engine in, my advice would be to change it asap.
