Could anyone tell me why my drivers side of my car sits slighty higher than the passenger side ?

I first thought my springs had broken so ive taken the 60mm ones off and replace them with 30mm springs, but this hasnt cured the problem. Also when i drive the car there is a knocking noise from the drivers rear, could this mean one of my shocks is knackerd?
