It makes the starting noise but doesn't start! put 10 litres of petrol in as my dad thought that it was because there was none in or it has sucked all the shit in from the tank and replaced the fuel filter but to no avail. HE checked the spark plugs and they were ok,
As you can probably tell i'm not very mechanically minded! Whats the possible problems it could be?

well by going according to your garage, you have a 1.2 8v. checkyour distributor cap (orange thing on right side of engine), take cap off, disconnect it from battery and give the metal bits at bottom a good clean, also check the rotor that fits inside the cap.
Is your EML (engine management light) on at all?

check for spark... then fuel and trace the problem accordingly

sorted now, sprayed some "get start" stuff somewhere that must have got rid of the shit that was stopping the fuel getting to where it was supposed to be going.
