was told i have the wrong coil on my xe but dont know which one i should have, canny mind what distributor it is, think it might be an astra one but. its twin 48 webers i am running with no ecu.

as far as i was aware a coil was a coil and that was it.
with the ecu there would be an amplifier module under the coil, but probably you don't need that with carbs.

i have an ignition amplifier on mine, i bought it all as it was but only to be told i need a different coil when i took it for a tune up
current coil looks like that. He told me i needed an electronic one but i dont know now. spoke to another guy who said it should be fine the one i have if the car runs so not sure, need to take my current one to a shop and ask which one i need if the one i have is wrong

running twin carbs, use a mk2 cav dizzy coil and amp set up on an xe, thats what i had on a 16v nova. got a weber alpha ignition module after that, ran better

oh, and as myke says its a coil on them, nothin flash. its more to do with the right amplifier
|
