the fuel pump still doesnt turn itself off and i do not have an ecu light when i turn the key to start the car.
The problem is im meant to be going to the nurburgring on friday and really really need help as electrics is not my strong point i was wondering if there was anyone who could please please please come and give me a hand to work it out cos my brain is so confused. There is lots and lots of pizza and beer envolved if someone can help and ill pay your petrol money here quite happily i just need to get my car back on the road as i dont wanna miss going to the nurburgring! im located at junction 23 on the M1 in loughborough is there anyone who could come and help?

ahhh damn thats annoying u are prob just the man i need, im at uni here in loughborough wish i was at home now. i really dont recon i have damaged the ecu i think its just a prob with my wiring somewhere just got to find out where. Also getting hold of another ecu could be a problem im gonna have a good look around 2mrw and test all my signals and see what i can work out but i really do thing its and earth problem. Any chance you could point out what wires are meant to be joined (and where) when using the astra gte loom into an 1.2 8v merit would be very much appreciated.

yea thats fine mate just bring it down wenever. if the fuel relay aint plugged in that stops the engine light from being on so it could be some wiring faults. if u get it to me ive got all the spares so changing things aint a problem

from the loom over the injector there are two earth wires above cylinder 4 these are the earths for the fuel relay IIRC so just check them, i had a very similar problem with a conversion i did had me baffled for ages (so simple i overlooked it)

i have already checked those earths and they seem fine to me. i have also checked using a multimeter pretty much all the wires from the ecu and the sensors and they arent broken or anything. bulb hasnt blown ive also had all my mates look at it and they know there stuff and it has us all baffled seems to be pointing to a bad ecu, which i dont understand as it worked a few weeks ago. thanks alot lee thats a great help
