well, apparently you can heat it up and pull it off.
i tired that, but i couldn't budge it at all.
ended up hacking into little pieces.

i like the C's gear nob though 
i wanted to get it sprayed, with the handbrake, and then rub back the paint just over the numbers to show black 
ill see how much cheaper ones are though

just the silver bit, masked it off, used primer out of a tin with a bruch, saned back until the numbers came through, repeated with the paint, then sprayed over with the lacquer
