Ok i realise this subject has been done to death a bit, but i'm still at a loose end.
Wanna fit some 7.5x17" rims, car has been lowered 40mm (shocks & springs).
The wheel is available in a 45 and a 52 offset, which would be best? i figured the 52 is gonna be kinder on my arches but wasnt sure if it would be 2 far and hit the inside arch.
Any advice?

and 7 inch wide wheels wud be better than 7.5. Qoute me if im wrong but 52 would bring it in uder the car and woudl more likely hit on the shock or something that side of the tire.

Best going for 45 will have to remove rear arch, cut back metal, and bond arch on again. think there is a post in tutorials section. If not max haynes manual!

7.5 with the 52 will definately catch the suspension.

45 is the one that will go on and contact will be occasional but still there.

Nothing narrower?

not really... only wheel design i want 4 it which is a pain, i agree a 7" wide would be easier!
So it sounds like its gonna be ET45 and get out the grinder?

7.5" wide wheels!

et52 you'll be fouling your suspension tho.

you'll have more problems than it's worth.

out of curiousity, what wheels are they?

Team dynamics mirage. Most people seem to hate 5-spokes these days but i already got em on in 15's and i think they look perfect! Just need em bigger
Sounding like i'm gonna run into trouble tho? not too worried about losing some plastic & metal on the rear arches if its gonna solve it

i have 16"'s with a 195 profile ET 42, fcuking rub everything on the rear
under hard cornering tyres rub the chassis & shock, over a speedbump rubs top of the arches.

Lol, i love the smell of a freshly burnt arch in the morning

Just realised it is possible for team dynamics to custom mill out the offsets (to a certain extent) from blank castings...
would an offset between 45 and 52 be better in anyone's opinion?

et49 would be a perfect offset so get it as near as that as possible id tend to go for below et49 if i couldnt get et49 less hassle. even u get it milled a few mm to even et47 itll make a rite wee bit of difference
