As I know these are a common fault I brought a new sensor as mine was showin -.-- degrees or -33! fitted the new one but still gettin the dashes. anyone else had this? any ideas what else can cause it? thought it might be a bad earth but not sure.

its worked fine whenever i have had the battery off to do some on me car.....
Could it be the mfd?

iirc... i had a problem with my temp sensor... ending up getting a second hand one fro other vauxhall and it sorted it out.
dunno y ur still getting errors tho

people say that u reset the ecu by diconnecting the battery for so long. its been off before and i have never had any problems.

i dont know if this helps but behind the panel on the outside of the passengers footwell theres some black boxes, i had to pull one out today which stopped the temp gage showing and when it was plugged back it in worked.
Check for lose wires and that everything is plugged in properley

I had the same with mine, got a new sensor from scrappy and it worked fine

it will be the connection on the mfd. mine has done it 3 tines now.
i had to solder the pins back into the circuit board.

first time when i changed the bulbs of the mfd, but after that without anything done by me - it just showed -.-- resolder - and done
