i cant seem to be able to enter the code, it just says 'safe' with a 7 on the left, anybody help on this?

Turn the key so the ignition light are on etc.make sure the stereos off then push and hold the "AS" button while pushing the on button on the stereo.it will now show the 4 lines to enter the code.use buttons 1-4 to enter then push and hold "AS" till it beeps and thats u

ok, been tryin for bloody ages now, every combination under the sun, but i CANNOT enter the code!! all it says is '7 SAFE'

You get 10 tries and have to wait longer each time. 7 is about 10 minutes, 6 will be about half an hour. 1 is like 10 hours or something.
Hold AS down as you're turning it on then wait until it says 7 - - - -
Then you can enter code, if the code is 5678 you press button 1 5 times, button 2 6 times etc. then hold AS again.
If the code is wrong they can sometimes be derived from the serial number so don't pay any money yet.

i will try again tomorrow, i had it up earlier but put in a code by mistake, it was 8 but now obviously down to 7! i think i have found the code written in my manual though. cheers for your help! think i mite jst geta cd player

Even if you are replacing the radio it will sell for more with a code.

ok ive been tryin to do this several times today but still no joy!!
it just says '7 SAFE' no matter how long i hold the AS button or what order i do anything it makes no difference! feel like gettin at it with a hammer to be honest

You may need to wait half an hour or more.
I've just thought on as well - some older units need a different button? UML?
Hold this while you power up the unit then you don't need to keep holding it, just wait the time for 7 - - - - to appear.

It is exactly the same procedure as the CAR300 (the model I have), and I have tried this and it works. Unfortunately it's basically the same as you've been told, have tried, and failed, but I thought I'd post it to confirm that this is the correct procedure.

thats ok, thanks, was solved earlier today. left it on by accident wen i went to geta drink and wen i cum out the code enterin screen was up. you just have to wait obviously!!. . . . . . or a fairy done it??
