Two Engines i'm thinking of aquiring which would be the 1.4 8v SRi Engine or the 1.4 16v.
I've only just started tinkering with mechanics and im interested in getting some information on which routes would be best to take to tune these engines (to tune i mean more power, go fast. And nothing like "just stick on an air filter").
What in the engine bay can be upgraded or changed? Are carbs (twin 40's) better than the original fuel injection system.
Any help would be great. And if you've tuned your 1.4 lumps what have you done and whats it pumping out.

Would go for a 1.6 16v or 2 litre if your gonna change engine. If you dont/cant afford to insure either of them, then deffo the 1.4 16v. Most people do inlet manifolds, arp rod bolts, pulleys etc.

Dont think people make manifolds for the 8v so will have to be the 16v. Recon maybe about 110 ish with manifold etc maybe a bit more.
