I found this on E-Bay, thought it would be no good, but....

 http://search.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-OPEL-ENGINE-RESTORE-OIL_W0QQsoloctogZ9

(if link dont work, go to e bay home and type in Vauxhall Opel Engine Restore Oil

I've had really noisy tappets for a while, only until the oil has warmed, then they are fine. Plus my car has been smoking a little. I bought 2tins of the above, added it to my oil and since done 100miles of travelling. From stone cold my engine no longer taps, nor does it smoke........maybe won't work for every1 but its really helped my xe!

It's 9.99 a tin........designed to restore compression, restore power, reduce oil and petrol consumption. My car defineatly pulls better, try it!

my exhaust smokes quite a lot and my tappets are knackered, how good you reckon it would be on a 1.4 16v?

I really dont know, i'm not going to agree that adding additives to your oil does any good but it has helped my engine. My xe has been in my corsa around 4years, so since the year 2000 or so, its been thrashed at times.

This stuff has made my engine alot more quiet when cold, why i dont know, i cant tell you if there may be any long time side affects.........my 2tins i bought came with a leaflet and it sounds good and has worked for me so far!

Looks good. When it said get 1 can per 1litre I thought it meant per 1 litre of oil so nearly bought 5! Then I realised it meant engine size, so I only need 2!

It's late

LOL, TBH im not a fan of additives. My lifters have got real noisey over the past few weeks until engine is warm. Im having the engine re-conned in the next few weeks so im going to get them to take a look at the lifters then, they thought it could be due to low oil pressure as they said something about the oil strainer (I think) can get blocked with manky oil and until its warm (thinner oil) then its loud.

I wont be buying any im affraid. Hey X60RSA, do you want to come down to the Notts Vaux meet this Sunday?

I'm not a fan of oil additives either, how is it good to put metal particles in to your oil??

I'd rather use a flushing oil (straight 20weight oil) then put in fresh after should give same results, but not f**k the oil in there.

get hold of some prolong engine treatment and stick that in... it actually is the best friction reducer ever, it says on the bottle "no equal in the world" and it actually is... since slick 50 took em 2 court coz they said they were better than slick 50 and they actually proved they were the best lol

I'm not too fussed if it fucks my engine, its coming out later this year for a major overhaul, not sure if to have it done with QED yet.

I've just got sick and tired of starting my car up, and people staring because it sounds like a tractor lol Its certainly put and end to my tappets making a row.

End of the day its personal choice, i'll keep you posted if my engine blows!
