i own a corsa b 1.6 16v and wen i turn my air con on and im driving along everything is fine but wen i come up to a junction and drop the clutch it nearly stalls and really struggles to idle Does any one know y?

youl find if you hav the car stood runing mate n put the air con on the revs will drop this is normal but it shouldent go to stall what rpm dose the car idle @without the air con ?

it idles at just under a grand wich is normal iv taken it to vauxhall and they cant explain it!

dose it try to stall when its jus idleing and you turn the air con on? id try turning the tickover up mate so it idles @ a gand or 1100 sumert like that n give it a try

strange, when i put my aircon on whilst idling, my revs raise but about 100-200rpm: not much at all

some cars do do this its like some cars when you put in reverse they raise the rpm slightly to make it easyer

As the newer moddels came out vaux change odd bits not all are set up the same

Idle control valve perhaps? Not sure what kinda style it is on the 1.6 but on the smaller spi engines its a steppermotor type which does wear out over time..... makes it do some odd things (like what your having) but beware, vauxhall ones are expensive and can b funny to get the right one aftermarket. If you get from from a shop then they need to get it from a company called Fuel Parts UK, they can get hold of an original vaux one for you at a fraction of the price!
