Agree with John here, and also i think the home button is part of the iconic apple design, if they remove it someone will take out a law suit against them.

If they increase the price of the iPad 3 as rumoured it won't have, but I can't see that as Apple hardly ever increase the price on new products and reports of shops already knocking $50 off iPad 2 stock.

if they increase the price thats me out too :lo: i would have upgraded for £50 ish but im not bothered enough to spend more than that.
i was hoping to get close to £350 with it being2 months old with an official smart cover, zum case and belkin leather case

On the iPhone 4s invitation it said - lets talk iPhone - hinting about the voice recognition.
So can we presume it's going to have hi res screen and extra touch features, possibly no home button.

The home button things definitely been done on purpose, Apple don't leave anything to chance.
But then Johns right in that they normally wouldn't want to leak a change like that prior to the big event.

It's also the weakest mechanical part on the phone/tablet. Damn thing is always first to fail

There's more than that I'm sure. There's the:
Lock Button
The microswitch in the headphone jack (which you only realise is there when you spill snakebite in it)
The mute switch
The two volume buttons
The home button
It's probably a bit much for them to use hall effect switches for all those seeing as the design life is probably about two years max.
