not because NESV said they are going to invest heavily in young british talent?

All dalglish's doing

You would be going mad mate if Roy Hodgson was still the boss and you'd sold Torres and bought Carroll for this money. That's what I find funny.

Hodgson wanted Carlton Cole. Not Andy Carroll

Am I A £35m Striker?

I scored 24 goals helping my side win promotion back to the Premier League aged just 22.In my first season in the top flight I had 15 goals by the end of Jan. Including a goal against the reigning champions, away at Arsenal and in a home win vs Liverpool. My form earned me an England call-up and debut in a friendly....Am a I £35m striker?

No I am Michael Ricketts, February 2002.

PMSL Ricketts! This is the way Carroll is going.

I cant decide whether he is more like Ricketts, Duncan Ferguson or Franny Jeffers

I agree that Carroll is a massive gamble but he is in a different league to those three

No questioning that but he wasn't all he was cracked up to be as a footballer which is what my point was about Ecketh

It was half bait and half serious though, trouble seems to follow him around.

I cant say ive been that impressed with him either tbh.

Good question, not sure really. To be fair not many names were being touted in January. Suerez looks a good buy.

Like us replacing Tevez with Owen, both good (when he's fit blah blah! ) but you can't help but feel a little bit ripped off!

I can't imagine there are! How many players can you think of not signed to a club?

As a free, it will fill a void

Marc - He's better than a permacrocked Owen and is about 8 years younger.... but I loosely see what you are saying

Ryan agreed, he's gonna have to sort his off the field stuff out but he's looked pretty good on it this season, will add plenty to our team and as i've said lots i'd rather the burden of goal scoring was spread across the team than the 'let's get it into to torres every time' attitude.

I think Carroll will be fine with his off the field issues. Being with Nolan will have helped him.
