Don't quite understand what you're saying about the fake straight line? Black door pillars are now standard on 99% of modern cars - I'm getting the windows tinted so think it will all blend in nicely.

Ok, so I suppose I'd better do an update as I haven't for a while.

After the door issues I totalled up a list of work that needed doing (rust treatment, flaring arches, bumper repairs, scratch and scrape touch ups etc) and the cost would have been in four figures. Not good. So after a nice discussion with my friend at the bodyshop, we agreed on a price for a full respray. Not cheap but only a little more than the work that needed doing so that's the plan! Or it was...

I then found a few choice parts that were too good to pass up (rare as rocking horse poop to say the least! So thanks to Aron and Ste for those bits!)

Irmscher steering wheel
Irmscher pedals
Irmscher dash trim
Irmscher door grab handles and surrounds
Irmscher gear knob
Camber bolts
Corsa dash mat

Nice!

Also got some black a, b and c pillars on the way and black head-lining too (thanks Rowland!)

So I decided to save for a while for the respray, and I'm in the process of finding a garage to keep the car in. I'm not going to be driving it much now, as I've just bought a little run around

Second car/run-around looks a little like this...

Love my Corsa, doubt I'll ever get rid of it as it's my passion. It will make regular appearances at shows and meets, but it just wasn't sensible driving it everyday. Plus with it off the road, mods will be easier to do as I wont have to worry about it being usable for work the same day! Cheers Rich.

What do you mean parents? Supposed to be an insult? Everything I own I've bought myself, no handouts or whatever if that's what you're getting at? It's my RX-8.

Ok, so today was my first day off in about a month! I used it wisely I reckon - list of todays jobs completed:

Fixed drivers door speaker as it was playing up
Fitted Irmscher door handle trims
Fitted Irmscher centre console
Fitted Irmscher gear knob
Fitted Irmscher pedals
Fitted Corsa dash mat
Fitted LED number plate light
Relocated electric window switch
Removed mdf false floor so I can now get to my spare wheel!
Refitted front footwell neons that had moved
Refitted drivers bump strip

Pics show the outcome:

NB I am fully aware of how dirty my car is and how the pictures are in no particular order haha! Comments (constructive ones!) welcome as always

Thanks guys. Can I ask what you would suggest light and wheels-wise then?
Don't want to go Speedlines as everybody has those. Ideally I'd like some Corsa D SXis but need arch work first. I'm happy with the Veccy wheels though tbh. Also like my clear MHWs as they're different to what you tend to see, although wouldn't say no to some Irmy smoked ones! Thanks for feedback lads!

Too much going on with those. Don't get me wrong, they suit his car, but doubt they'd look any good on mine. Couple of photoshops of mine with Corsa D SXi's:

And with the actual wheels on (ignore silly profile tyres!)

Think they're what I'll end up with!

Only problem being they're et40 so would need my arches trimming and flaring. Will be done eventually though

I think I can get away with 45s, i'll have to try and see, but 40s are sooo much more expensive!

Right, now for the worst update I've ever had to do

No RX-8. Long story involving financial loop holes and contracting issues, but I am not being backed by my bank anymore (even though they guaranteed they would last week!) Means I've lost my deposit too
Watch this space though, I haven't completely given up hope yet!

Right, time for a very overdue update.

I got the RX-8. Took a lot of fighting with banks and credit/loan companies, a bit of help from my parents, a very helpful and patient private seller and a little bit of luck BUT it's here. I picked it up last Friday (22nd) and omg what a car it is! Superbly fast, powers all through the rev range, sideways is great fun and it's beauuuuuuuutiful! Only issue is it's a tad thirsty (I averaged 14mpg for the first few days I had it!) As for mods, I won't be doing much to it really, it doesn't need much and as it's a daily driver not a project so I don't want to go too mad!

So the Corsa has become purely a show car. I felt a bit mean now that I hardly ever drive it so treated it to a few bits:

Fully tailored All-Weather Car Cover
Black Roof Lining
Black A, B, C pillars
Black Corsa C Sunglasses Holder
New Punto Rear Wiper
Irmscher Rear MHW Lights

I'm also in the process of securing a garage, so the Corsa will be tucked up all safe and warm!

Here are a few pics of the interior bits fitted and the new wiper too. The lights have not arrived yet and I haven't tried out the cover yet either!

Here are a few pics of my toys together...
