What are cube's like?

Looking at getting my first bike in years.

Looking at the LTD 29 2014

http://www.squarewheels.biz/cube-bikes/cube-ltd-29-2014.html

Looks a good bike, decent(ish) sounding spec

Been out of the bike scene for a long time though, I dont want to pay for a fashion accessory,

Originally wanted a DH bike, so I could visit the Fort William DH course, but being sensible I could do with something I can use more often, so this one fits the bill.

better off waiting for cole to say what he thinks before you buy it. his mate owns cube bikes so might be able to get you a discount.

fuck off barnes you told me your mate owns trek and that youre best pals with adam brayton. The grand canyon is virtually the same bike as the cube pretty well specced tbh for the money much cheaper than an equivelant trek

Get alot for your money with cube. Frames arnt the best but by no means bad. Just check the sizing carefully as they come up small. Had a cube before my scott. Was a good bike

Does anyone have any recommendations for road bikes if I had a budget of £300-500?

Been looking at these:

Halfords Carera - £269 (£330 off)
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_1001523_langId_-1_categoryId_165710

Boardman - £500
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_875985_langId_-1_categoryId_165710

I really don't know anything about road bikes so please do offer suggestions.

Everyone I know that has bought one has got them for an absolute bargain because they buy them off people with big wallets who buy them and then never use them so sell them for a couple hundred quid.

Anyone selling one?
