and so the engines apart yet again to repair the bent valves.


on closer inspection , piston 4 inlet vales arent shutting 100% tight so im gonna chat them and hopefully it will sort out the problem. you can see its been running on 3 cylinders from the bottom of the head.

Jesus, can't believe how unlucky this has been for you, I thought my luck was bad but this is a different kettle of fish. Fair play for sticking at it, I scrapped mine the first time my engine broke

Spent too much money on it to scrap the engine to be honest. Hopefully after this it should all be sorted

got the first valve out tonight and replaced it. looks fine , not bent but best to change the 4 valves on the cylinder for piece of mind.

why didnt you turn the head upside down and fill each cylinder pot bit with petrol and watch and see if it leaks?

i could see light between the valves and head so there was no need to put fuel on them

stick to the V6 mate, spent around £1500 on this engine and its still only a 1600

haha famous last words with me , but on a serious note, everything that can go wrong has gone wrong:

bent valves
fucked honing
re-ringed twice
re stem sealed a head then swapped that for a recon one
6 head gaskets
5 packs of head bolts


just to name a few,so hopefully this time it should FINALLY be ok, a year and half later...

well its finally running again, put it all back together and all is good. slight tapping sound coming from somewhere that it never used to do but ill look into that at a later date.
