Yeah but we live here. Why would you want to pay hundreds of pounds to go somewhere that has to have armed guards everywhere?!

Theres threats everywhere you go now, its just something you have to live with and get on with life.
If you stopped going places just incase you got hurt you would end up locked away in your bathroom all your life

Fuck Egypt.
Been twice. Hated it.
Dirty, stinking shithole full of scroungey cunts.
Spent time in Cairo & Suez on both trips, both with work so luckily never parted with any of my own money to go out there.
I've spent a week in Iran and it was CONSIDERABLY better than Egypt. No scroungey locals. Everyone i spoke to was polite. Didn't get ill from the food. Didn't get hassled by people in the Airport etc etc

I think its Marsa Alam... The Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza. I didn't do any of the booking, much easier if someone else does it and you just go along with everything
3 corners resorts are dog shit im afraid
This sounds positive!

We have just come back from Hurgharda.
Stayed at Grand Siva resort.... the resort/hotel is amazing but surrounding areas are complete shit hole, the scrounging and hassling is mental.
The good thing is when you do want to buy something from someone you can haggle like mad, i got some unbelieveable bargains while out there.
Luxor/Karnak/valley of the kings is a complete must while you're out there. Its amazing.
Dont do the snorkeling trips, just got off the beach.
If you can try and do the excursion where you go out to the Bedowin desert camps. Well worth it.
PS... we both has dodgy stomachs for few days even tho we were both very cautious.... take hand sanitising gel and wash your hands pretty much after everything you do.

Don't see the attraction with the place personally other than the fact it seems to be the new 'place to be' i.e. travel agents do cheap deals.

You can go to Spain for a lot cheaper and get both a tan and stomach bug depending where you eat

When I looked at going to Egypt I heard everything that others mentioned plus looking at reviews for hotels most of the time I kept reading about them being full of Russians on holiday and how bad mannered they are.

In all honesty, I stayed in a stunning hotel and had an amazing time. You get what you pay for over there, big style.

Our Three Corners Resort turned out to be amazing in the end! All inclusive food was great, staff were all friendly, only downside was all the German's that liked to stare at us because we're English... Must be a rare sight at the hotel. Also it was Marsa Alam we went to like i thought... I didn't book it so didn't have a clue. We went to Three Corners Rihana in El Gouna and I recommend it to anyone! The place is clean(ish), everyones friendly (Egyptians love us Brits), there's plenty of places to go eat and activities to do like the Sand Buggies through the desert!
