think id buy an escort cossy anyday over any of the new fords, vaux's even some the jap cars. for 2 reasons mainly:

hold there value very well
iconic car and still gets respected.

despite people sdaying there unrealible etc, there not that bad and still highly tuneable

at the moment im liking the fact my mates just paid £16k for a nuremburg(spl) vxr fair enough only has 33miles, but 12months down line be worth £13/14k tops probably less? and will just keeping falling(to a certain point)

If you watch this video, you'll see that the Focus, is only 1.5 seconds slower than the Cossie. Okay, its about ten years newer, but still not a bad effort for a less powerful front wheel drive car.

the cosworth wouldnt be running the same power it did do, so i reckon if the cossy was as new as the focus it would beat it by more, maybe not lots more, but still the cossy older and more 'tired/worn' so to speak!

good point, my bad, but comment was just based on this topic.

only thing i dont get with my mate is he got the car last friday, and ive not seen him in it! going on about how quick it is etc, and its like hes dissappeared off the earth, and only uses it to go 4mile down the road to work, seems large waste of money if doing barely any miles for the amount of money it will no doubt loose and ive ended up with his mk3 astra gsi on my drive as he doesnt want the vxr sat on the top of his drive!

It'll be interesting to see how well the New RS holds its money.

On my dads last one, he bought it for 18, and 3 and a half years later, got 14.5K for it.
You can't argue with that.

If the car had been well looked after and serviced regularly (like most cosworths probably are) it should still be as quick as it was new.

I just CANNOT get on with that rear spoiler, the car looks mean as hell from the front but from the sides it looks about as aerodynamic as a house brick. Bloody awful.

escoss whale tail was huge and contraversial in it's day, and that worked out i guess.

See new pics every week and just can't like it, I want to though lol.

I'll probably (hopefully) change my mind when I see one in the flesh!

I still can't wait to see one in the flesh. Supposedly the pics don't do them justice.
