That's not the case! just thought it looked better with standard light's, and as for doing the cage Matt black!, great idea, did mine bright orange to match wheels and strut brace, covered in chips, will probably need a repaint after Donington tomorrow.

this is the situation i am finding myself in....... paint it yellow to break up the inside a bit and have be careful every time i get in an out all for the sake of a bit of colour

or.. paint it matt black out of a spray can, done in 5mins, easy to maintain and if i decide to put extra welds on then i can just spray can over them in like 5 seconds

Back home and put the cage straight in for test fitting

Went and met eckers and strapped the cage tow roof rack on dads trusty touring and got it home

Then whacked it straight in for test fitting

Bit of a tight fit but leaving it like this for a mo as I need time to get the base plates welded in and get subframes for the new bucket seats

And also fitted new rear lights, and I think they suit the car really well, not to some tastes but I love em (soz fr. Crap pics it was getting dark)

Woop woop! You can now go out on the piss and not worry about spending money that you could have spent on a cage

I vote yellow paint for aesthetics. Matt black for practicality. Doesn't really help you decide haha

Yep that does fuck all to help me decide Paul haha

Knew if I was patient enough I'd find one cheap enough off here plus winning at casino paid for it (literally haha)

Now just have to get this and seats in and next up on the list is a new stainless exhaust system

Rear lights aint bad actually, the red stripe through them helps break up the blackness. Suit it well

And the cage should be yellow

Just read the entire thread over last night and this morning.

Awesome thread and a truly awesome "B"! *Takes off hat*

I like how it doesn't look too much of a track monster, apart from the cage and the colour it is sort of a sleeper.

My Corsa B is my first car (had a Punto before but it never left the drive so it became a drive ornament) and I love them and Vauxhalls because of it.

Keep up the good work, it's nice to see a B in a unique colour not the usual Arden Blue, Smoke Grey or Flame Red (before I get flamed I'm not saying they are horrible colours).

thanks rowley, positive comments always welcome,

i like to go back and have a read once in a blue moon myself to see how its come on over the years (an to think all my workmates at my first place said it would never see a track and i was wasting my time- some have since now seen it on fbook and eaten their words haha)

All the best with your B mate, get a project thread up and keep us posted

You're welcome, positive comments deserved on this one!

Haha I bet they regret doubting it now after seeing it shift on YouTube and the way it looks now.

Thank you mate, I might just do that I've been wanting to do a project thread on it for a while and threads like these motivate me to do it all the more although admittingly it's not going to get a huge overhaul, just more comfortable and a few extra's (It's a poverty spec Merit).

Although mines basic it's a hoot to drive, just like a go cart and it has the benefit of being in a colour I've not seen on another B in person, Apple Green. I think I'll be keeping this for a few years yet and then perhaps moving up in spec but staying with the badge.

I did indeed I forgot it started out like that tbh haha. Even more inspiration to work on mine but i admit i did like it standard too though, white "B"s look good. Lol

I am just gonna add a few factory options to mine, I've already added an mfd and a cigarette lighter (which I need I re-wire) and gonna add a glove box but apart from fix it I'm gonna add my flair and leave it at that.

Was going to change the door looms and put cdx internals to give me central locking and electric windows but there's no point il do that on my next Corsa b or buy one with them I think ha.

Although I'm a level 3 engineer in agriculture and Motorsport at level 2 I think I'm leaving the mechanicals standard on mine...atleast for now lol.

Nah thought I'd add some weight to give you a fair chance so you won't be eating my dust all the time haha

Good luck keeping up with this on the twisty bits, cage = more rigid than a male pornstar on Viagra haha
