Over the past week I've been researching and looking at the idea of new wheels for my sport.

After earlier suggestions about changing the colour scheme on the sport to a Porsche blue on the Speedlines, it was suggested by BeetleGav to actually put Porsche rims on her, rather than paint the Speedlines a Porsche colour which would just look tacky.

A set of Porsche 928 wheels, in the colour I wanted have come up for sale and fingers crossed I'll be picking them up this week.

So hopefully the idea is to get these on and then colour code the Cage, Strut Braces and the triangle in the RX-8 seats

Cheers lads.

There a bit battered now, so will probably need a respray as I'm very picky lol. But this is an excuse to get the cage, strut brace & a few other little bits colour coded to the wheels

Opinions urgently needed.

Now the wheels have been collected, they need a refurb before going on the car. Sticking with the original idea and colours, these are the options and I need your help as I have no fucking idea!!

Option 1 - Refurb the wheels ONLY in Rivera (Porsche GT3 RS) blue. (Cost £130)

Option 2 - Refub the wheels in Rivera Blue and colour code the show cage, rear strut brace and triangle in the RX8 seats to match. (Cost £230)

Option 3 - Have the 928 wheels stripped and polished to match the cage. (Cost £160)

I'd like to do the orginal idea of option 2, but the funds are tight after purchasing the wheels and I'm worried just painting the wheels blue again will look out of place on the car.

All opinions for and against would be muchly apreciated

Thanks

3 out of those options.

I hate bright coloured wheels on Corsa's looks daft and people trying too hard to stand out

That was the point for doing the original colour idea though mate, the Corsa goes to shows during the summer season with my car club and whilstever last season it looked very clean, it lacked getting attention

You agree that just the wheels painted would stand out like a sore thumb then, at least a bit of colour coding makes it look like I've thought it through a bit more?

I don't know about going that far, might just look like I had left over paint and found ways to use it up??

The polishing option is out the window, I dont have metal centres and there not cheap for a set. Plus I priced it wrong, its nearly £250 to have them stripped back and polished.

So its looking like Option 1 or 2.

I'd do option 1. There's nothing wrong with it still being a work in progress kinda thing.

A lot of friends and saying that Gav, seem to think even my original idea of the matching cage/brace is too much.

So I think I'll get the wheels done first and then see if they look a bit out of place on their own.
