Am considering getting one as a second car as I think it would be useful at times where live (road is often flooded and bad when it snows too)

I think 10k can get you something fairly respectable?

Unless you really need it's capabilities there are much much cheaper cars that will do what you want just as well.

As above, no point paying a premium for a Defender if it's only to get through some puddles or snow every so often.

What other stuff is out there? I like the idea of it being fairly indestructible. The jeep wranglers are quite cool. What else?

Jeep all day long, simple luxurious and easy to maintain. Don't command daft premiums and limited specs has more toys than modern base spec carsz

Defender will be a waste tbh.

Spend 5k on a disco td5. You'll get heated leather and other toys too.

Defenders are shit to drive in reality. Driving position is too far right hence why everyone has their arm out the window.

Your a soft lad Steve, don't buy a man's car.

For what you need it for a Rav4 will be enough.

Wranglers are very capable, small though and convertible. Plus not that cheap from what I can recall!

£10k is a bonzar Disco.

I know you say you don't want luxury but a bit of padding and upholstery is a good idea in winter.
