I didn't build a let corsa to find out the mpg.

Just an example here. I put a full tank in my car for work on monday. To work & back is about 20 miles. Have just under 3 1/4 of a tank left.

owned a few fuel guzzlers in the past, and i know i cant expect it to be great, but wondering what are they like (best way to find out ask people who owns them)

i never give cars death, so it will be a mix of mostly normal driving and the odd foot down drivng)

My old LET, everytime you put your foot down and hit boost the petrol gauge would go down

The guy I purchased mine from said he could push a full tank to 200miles, thats very occasionally giving it some but most of the time driving sensibly

Exactly

I would say if your worrying about petrol consumption but still really want one, then would it be an idea to have a cheap runabout for the week and have a LET as a weekend toy?
But like Fazza's mentioned, if you where struggling to insure a 1.6 then maybe just wait until you can insure and run one, or just start building one and dont worry about petrol aye fazza?

£5 has lasted 4 months! Shit Hot Fazza!!

perfectly sensible question IMO

I work out exactly how much my car costs to run, so calcualte the average miles it does to a tank etc.

If you want a "performance" vehicle, but want to work out or worried about fuel consumption, surely you've just killed the point of owning such a car?

Knowing how many miles you roughly get to tank doesn't mean your worried about fuel consumption though, just means you want to know
