I thought the price was good.

Dave i would think it would do the job, just as good as any other console DVD player? Would be the same options etc?

But consoles have never really been able to match the quality of a proper DVD player have they. I wouldn't dream of using my 360 to play DVDs when I have a Denon DVD player.

I'm just wondering if it'd be worth putting the money towards a proper HD DVD player instead....

oh you silly boy

Have you heard the noise the 360 makes when reading DVDs? I wouldn't be able to stand that to be honest.

The PS2 was a shoot DVD player at best. Audio would be out of sync with the video half the time, frustrating. Once again made a rather annoying noise (excluding the slimline model).

Standalone DVD players are much better imo. That's why I'm wondering if there have been any reviews on the 360 HD player.

Well i didnt really ever bother about deacent quality until i got my Samsung, and ive had a 360 addiction since that

I spose wel have to see how it stands up against other players, although the sound wouldnt bother me too much because i have surround sound to drown it out

it can play copied but i think it may be region locked.

Dave surely the xbox wont be noisy with DVD's will it? does it not use a fan controller to slow them down when not using lots or processing power?

i may get me one of these anyway

It's not as noisy as it can be, but you can still hear it and it bugs me personal preference I guess. The Denon is silent so it's very noticeable, especially during quiet scenes.

DVD players can play copies as long as they can read the disc.

Nothing to do with chipping.

Not sure how this works with hd-dvd though.
