Hi All,
New here and not really very knowledgable about fitting body kits cars. My lad is turning 17 in the summer and he's decided he wants a Corsa B (small engine of course). I thought I might get a body kit fitted for him for his birthday but have been told by some bodyshop workers that I know that I should look for plastic (ABS?) parts to get fitted.
Question is, is there a plastic kit that comes with complete bumpers and not just add-on parts to the standard bumpers? I've looked around and can't see any full bumper plastic kits.
Any help appreciated.

There are a few that come to mind, the Corsa GSi bodykit. You can buy that from Vauxhall for about £900, but luckily you can get it secod hand between about £200 and £400 depending on condition.
There are a few Reiger Kit's like the GTC that are full plastic.
There is a Steinmetz kit and a Irmscher kit... Here are a few pics for you:

Yea, and if you get the stuff above, the car will look good, as it will be subtle. assuming that the car will not be extensively modified, such as ed's or poole's cars (poole's used to be fear's), then other aftermarket manufacturers kits just don't seem to suit it without a lot of time, money or both spent on the car.

Thanks for all the quick help!
That black & silver car looks really 'clean' and not too over the top. Just did a search for rieger and came up with a website tuning.co.uk/rieger and the parts don't seem too expensive. They also have the reiger kit in the photograph below. Does anyone know if this kit will be easy to fit? I'm just thinking that my 17 yr old might want something a bit more "17 ish" than my taste.

Love this site by the way as it's so easy to use even as a computer idiot!
Thanks again,
Joe.

that front looks kind of like the mk5 golf gti, with the audi shaped grill and central vent, and the bar being black.
I think so anyway!

agreed. If you going to go for reiger, then stick with the previous kit.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll go take a look at the rieger parts in the flesh and then make a decision as I still like the look of that red car. I'll let you know how I get on.
Thanks again for all the pointers.

I'm glad at leat one other person likes that red car - I though I was in a minority of one! Had a look at the link and I think the skirts on that site are priced each side, so £202 per pair and then you have to pay carriage so prob no cheaper. Thanks for the heads-up though.

Oh, by the way, rieger stuff is an apron that is bonded onto the standard corsa bumper, not a full piece. Only straighforward replacements are Irmscher and GSi bits.

That new Reiger kit is uber sexual. I would however modify the front bumper so that I could fit a Stenmetz grill...

^^^^ agree think that new kit looks good if you did something with the grill/bonnet.

There was a thread a while ago with a few photoshops of the Reiger one, might be worth a try as a few subtle touches made all the difference and improved it a lot IMO.
Regarding whether it is 17 enough for him the answer is probably no, that would be tacky stick on rubbish which will certainly make the car look worse, and which I wouldn't even let me son park on my path never mind fund
What are you doing about wheels and suspension? Should really do this before a bodykit.

agree with ian a nice set of wheels would be good for first mods, i did things a bit wierdly when i got my corsa, i am modifying from the inside out.
I have got the coilovers so next on the list is wheels, a nice set of 16's. Then that kit except a diffrent rear bumper probably. There is a photoshop of it with a badboy bonnet and it looked uber cool.
I disagree about the bodykit not being very 17, i think its a more in ur face than the RS kit but not tottally over the top like the silly jap kits, which if done right can look just as good.

Im gathering the ones of fears car are the aprons. I am thinking of getting some but i have the pre p7 bumpers. They do them for these but im unsure whether they will look as good as they have ridges etc at the top under the lights .
I could go for the full bumpers but they look different. Or are they not?

Fear had aprons on his. Though you can get a full bumper that looks the same, but without the groove in it.

Once again thanks for all the good advice. As far as wheels/suspension goes I really don't want him to have a car that's so low it's impractical for some of the poor condition lanes we have here in Pembs. so from looking at other cars on this site I think prob about -35mm to -40mm or so will be low enough and I like the clean look of those 5 spoke wheels fitted to the blue GSi up there ^^^
I didn't set out to mislead you but I don't even have the car yet! Just trying to do some planning/budgeting before it gets too close to the date. The car will probably be a pre '97 1.2 3 door. Right, I'm off now to get some insurance quotes - I expect I'll be crying in a couple of minutes time...
Cheers,
Joe.
