someone mentioned in a thread the other day which i cant find

that maybe my idling problem is a temperature sensor

its not idling at all when cold, cant maintain revs and cuts out until it starts to warm up, when its warm it over revs like a twat upto 3k most of the time, but every now and again it idles properly

ive had a brand new iacv fitted, but whats this temperature sensor thing and where is it located?

any help would be appreciated

It could be any of about 7 sensors, but start with the CTS.

If the sensor is giving a wacky reading out of range, or if it isnt connected, then the light will come up.

If its in a tolerable range but still sending an incorrect value then it will play hell on the engine without registering a fault code.
