what sort of price will i be looking at for a local garage to...
1, fit lowering springs???
2, fit springs and up rated dampers???

right ring round garages and ask how much they charge per hour on labour

for springs its a 2 hour job max

for springs & shox 3hours

roughly i would be looking to pay £40-50 for springs

£70-80 for shocks also

spings - £12.99+£20 - thats the cost of a haynes manual + spring compressors. Its as easy as pish. Please dont tell me people have paid to have this job done

and can you explain too me how its going too take another hour too change the shocks too?? it takes no extra time for the fronts cos u have too take them off anyway, and the rears come half out for the springs too go in, it'll take 15 mins extra on top of springs only.

Tell you what, if you got the money i got the time ill charge you a 6 pack of stella (english brewed not tthat belgium import crap) a box of fags and a 1/4 ounce of harry monk. We can get high and drunk and ill still do the job in half an hour!

All that lot works out to be about £55 - £60. You would be able to get it cheaper at a garage proabably, and their work is under warranty!!

Shit!! you are getting seriously ripped of for your Skunk then bruv cos i worked it out to be stella - £6, Fags £5, and da weed £20, i make that £31 quid! if you can find a garage that will have a drink with ya and a smoke and fix ya car then give me there number cos ill be goin there everytime i gotta tighten a bolt.

I was charged £70 for they guy just to change the front 2 springs over -60 spax ones!
on the mk2 nova BTW.

i have a spring ans shock kit ready to fit, worried about the 17 " alloys gona rub on it tho as they do now, on standard sports 1s, the kit lowers 40mm! will it be ok

For my Corsa C to get Eibach springs fitted, everywhere keeps quoting me £80ish, IMO thats way to much, thought it would cost about £50...... I havent bought the springs yet but really want to, but dont wanna pay £80 for fitting

So that you are aware when you lower you car you may need to have you cambers, toes and casters ajusted and that ain't cheap

you cant adjust camber or castor on a corsa

but u will need the tracking re-aligned

Gambit - Diddon had to get the lot changed mate, his car was all over the place..... cost him £200 op top of buying the springs

tracking, toe etc is all under wheel alignment

you cant adjust camber or castor on a corsa!

and how the hell he got charged £200 i dunno

i was able to get mine 4wheel aligned including camber adjustment (even got a colour print out of before & after) for £35!

What noonster meant was for fitting springs(£80, tracking(£15), new toe bolt and alignment when you break it down

And I got 2 colour print outs before and after (they charged £45 to check everything

no would not pay that much was £105 for all the toe alignment on hunter steering geometry auit thing. Cheaper that 2 new 17" tyres
